The SPARC 2011, 8th International Topical SPARC Workshop, which will take place on September 7-10, 2011 in Moscow, Russia. This Workshop is organized by the Stored Particles Atomic Physics Research Collaboration (SPARC), the Institute of Spectroscopy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Scientific Council on Spectroscopy of the RAS with the assistance of the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics and the P.N. Lebedev Physical Institute of the RAS.
The SPARC collaboration has been formed within the new international Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) at GSI, Darmstadt, Germany, and aims to provide a platform to strengthen collaborations and expertise in atomic physics with highly charged ions.
Workshop Program
The workshop program will concentrate on the following topics:
• Critical and super-critical atomic fields
• Ion-atom/molecule collisions at low to relativistic energies
• HCI in traps and rings for spectroscopy
• Atoms/Ions in intense laser fields
• Ion/Laser-matter interactions
• Cross-link between atomic physics and nuclear physics
• Status of present/future heavy ion and storage ring facilities
• Novel instrumentation
In order to allow for attendance of all sessions, no parallel sessions will be held.
Workshop Venue
The workshop will be held at the hotel "Uzkoe", which is located near the Metro station
"Yasenevo" (~15 minutes walking distance).
